Welcome
Engineering My Life is my professional interface to the world. This website provides a mechanism to display what I have to offer professionally.
Bio
My name is Matt Johnson. I'm 26 and I graduated in May 2011 from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering.
I'm a Christian. I reside in Charlotte, where I've lived since 2005. I have a wonderful, supportive wife, and love my life!
My educational background includes object oriented programming(C, Java), hardware/logic design (VHDL), basic amplifier/circuitry analysis (BJT, MOSFET), and control systems analysis and programming (LabVIEW).
My personal experience also includes web development primarily consisting of HTML and CSS with minor experience including user and server side scripting languages such as JavaScript and PHP.
Professionally, I'm currently employed at Chemring Detection Systems in Charlotte, North Carolina where I am an Associate Design Engineer, Electrical. My goal is to leverage my education and continuously growing experience to really apply myself in the field of Embedded Systems Design. My current professional role provides an excellent environment where I can simultaneously contribute and learn. Whether it be software or electrical design, I'm deeply involved in Embedded Systems Design and I want to continue this going forward.
I am also a Type 1 diabetic. I was diagnosed a week before my 21st birthday and have been insulin dependent ever since. I contemplated starting the previous sentence with "Unfortunately" but I really try to look at my diabetic glass as being half full. I would like to think that my diet has improved dramatically and with the help of my nutrition savvy wife I hope to maintain a healthy diet and lifestyle.
